Building IQ World: A Brain Game Where You Build Sentences
By Anuj Ror · · 3 min read
Most brain games are about numbers or patterns. I wanted to make one about language: something that keeps your mind sharp and helps with sentence building at the same time.
That became IQ World.
How the game works
You get a mix of words. Some belong in the sentence, some do not. Your job is to pick the correct words and arrange them into a meaningful sentence before the timer runs out.
Each level adds new puzzles, faster timers and smarter scoring, so it stays challenging as you get better.
Features
- Pick the correct words to form perfect sentences
- Unlimited levels with increasing difficulty
- Scores, streaks and a leaderboard
- Multiple categories and languages
- Smooth, addictive brain-training gameplay
Making it fun, not a test
The hardest part of a learning game is keeping it a game. If it feels like homework, people stop playing. So I focused on quick rounds, clear feedback and a real sense of progress with streaks and levels.
Difficulty also has to grow at the right speed. Too easy and it is boring, too hard and people quit. The level system is built to ramp up slowly and keep you in that sweet spot.
Under the hood
IQ World runs on a custom game engine for smooth gameplay, with word and sentence models that generate and check puzzles, a multi-level progression system, and a React and Tailwind interface.
The best brain games feel like play, and teach you something without you noticing.
Where it is today
IQ World is in development. I am adding more categories, languages and levels, and I will post updates here.
